Which Terminal Does Ryanair Use?

All Ryanair flights operate from Terminal 3 at Malaga Airport. After entering the departures hall, Ryanair check-in desks are in the main hall — desk numbers vary by flight and are shown on the departure screens. Gates are in the T3 Schengen departures area, typically in the B or C gate zones.

Check-In: What You Need to Know

Ryanair requires online check-in — there is no option to check in at the airport without paying a fee. Here is the process:

  1. Check in online at ryanair.com or via the Ryanair app (opens 24 hours before departure)
  2. Download your mobile boarding pass or print it
  3. If you have checked baggage, drop it at the Ryanair bag drop desk in T3 (not the check-in desk)
  4. If you are travelling with cabin bag only, go straight to security with your mobile boarding pass

Important: Ryanair charges a fee if you fail to check in online. Do it as soon as the 24-hour window opens.

Baggage Rules

Ryanair's baggage policy catches many passengers out. Here is the current structure:

Small Bag (Free)

One bag maximum 40 x 20 x 25 cm that must fit under the seat in front of you. This is roughly a small backpack or handbag. No wheels, no larger cabin cases — Ryanair enforces this strictly at the gate with a sizing frame.

10 kg Cabin Bag (Paid)

A larger cabin bag (55 x 40 x 20 cm, max 10 kg) requires either:

Checked Baggage

Checked bags (10 kg, 20 kg or more) must be purchased in advance when booking. Airport prices for unchecked bags are significantly higher. Bag drop closes 40 minutes before departure.
